Sweet Almond Milk

Made with the Oscar Juicer

juice it, purée it, milk it, wet and dry grind it

Sweet or Unsweetened Almond Milk with the Oscar - All models.

½ cup raw almonds (soaked overnight)
1¼ cup water
3 dates (cover with water and soak overnight)
pinch cinnamon
drop of vanilla
Pinch sea salt

Directions

In a jug - put all the almonds, ½ cup water, the soaked dates plus the water that the dates were soaked in, pinch of cinnamon, vanilla and sea salt.
Mix well.
Fit the juicing strainer to your Oscar Juicer.
Feed the contents of the jug into the Oscar being sure to mix liquid with each spoon of almonds or dates.
When the jug is empty put a ¾ cup of water into the jug.
Put the almond pulp, that you have just processed, into the hopper and feed it through again adding water each time you put in some pulp.

Pour the milk through a nut milk bag and refrigerate.

The balance of the pulp can be used to make an almond face scrub or added as an ingredient to dehydrated biscuits.

For the unsweetened version exclude the vanilla, cinnamon and dates and increase the water to
1½ cups.

Process all ingredients in your juicer, stir and serve.

Almond face scrub with the leftover pulp from making almond milk with the Oscar juicer

For every tablespoon of Almond pulp, add a tablespoon of oats and ¾ teaspoon cornstarch.
Add  ¾ teaspoon chamomile flowers (these can be obtained from the contents of a tea bag).
Add 1 drop of lavender oil.
Mix well until the mix is a soft granular powder.

How to use
In the morning put ½ tablespoon in the palm of your hand and add a couple of drops of water - enough to make a paste.
Wet your face then gently massage the paste onto your face in a circular motion to exfoliate.

Daily exfoliation stimulates blood flow to the skin, removes dead cells, gives you a softer, livelier skin especially for ageing skin and it improves the absorption of skin treatment products.
